That is a hard question.
I think if I wanted something premade, I'll want something unique, 'cause they have their own charm- creations of an independent artist, only made by them, cannot be reproduced elsewhere.
But having something custom made, tailored to your choice- that is also special, I think especially if it's that artist's interpretation of your original character. And it's done in their style, so that makes it even more special because it can't be replicated as well.
Either way, I don't think anyone can copy (I ran out of synonyms XD) the style of an artist, which is what makes a piece special. Even if other people's styles look similar, it's still not the same- I can see tutorials that famous artists have done, and people copy their techniques, and it still looks different in the end.
